Stonebreaker is on Hiatus until 2019

As you probably noticed, there haven’t been any Stonebreaker updates since March. This isn’t because I’m giving up on the comic — far from it! — but because I’m working on the next Avatar: The Last Airbender comics. It turns out that trying to handle two big projects at the same time is way too much work, so, unfortunately, I’m going to have to put Stonebreaker aside till Avatar is done around late 2018 or early 2019. Frankly, I’ve already been on de facto hiatus for a few months, but it’s time I actually acknowledge it. Rather than rushing pages and driving myself crazy with missed deadlines, I need to step away for a bit. The comic will be better for it.

That said, there will still be some big Stonebreaker news this year! I don’t want to say too much yet, but the best way to keep up with what I’m doing is probably on twitter, and I’ll also still put important news on this website. Other than that, Stonebreaker is on pause.

Anya and Toris have been running away from giant monsters since 2013, after all. They could use a few months break.

Thank you all so much for reading!

Stonebreaker Part Three now available

Stonebreaker Part Three is now available in my store!

This book consists of chapters three and four, along with a few pages of development sketches (as usual).

Parts one and two are up there as well, if you haven’t picked them up yet. I’ve almost sold out of them, which is awesome (and thanks so much to everyone who’s picked up a copy!), but I’ll probably do another print run before too long.

Anyway, back to drawing the next chapter for me. Thanks for reading!

I got an exciting package today, sooner then I expected it. Check out what I found inside!

So yep, Part Two of Stonebreaker (consisting of chapter 2 and some bonus development sketches) is now up on my store!

I’m not sure how many books the final story is going to consist of yet, but there will be a fairly respectable stack before this is all over. Honestly, I’m looking forward to it. We’re getting into parts of the story I’ve been waiting for almost two years to draw now, and things are going to get a lot more dangerous, complicated and generally weird from here on. Great for us readers, maybe less so for my poor characters.

(They’ll figure it out though. Mostly.)

Thanks again for reading! I’ll get back to finishing up Part Three.

The Final Stretch

There are only four pages left in chapter two, so I’m going to try out posting pages twice a week till we’re done. Once the chapter ends I’ll be taking a short hiatus to put the second book together (probably no more then a week, but we’ll see how long it takes) and then we’ll be back with chapter three: when everything starts coming together (or falling apart, depending on your perspective).

That’s all for this little update. Actually, wait, here’s a sneak-peak:

If you want a print edition of Stonebreaker, you can pick it up from my store now!

The book is 72 pages long, and contains the prologue and first chapter from the comic. Its been edited and improved from what I’ve posted online, and I think the story flows quite a bit better.

I know a few people were interested in international sales, but, unfortunately, this is US only for the moment. Hopefully this will be very temporary — I just need to figure out some shipping costs.

Stonebreaker: Now in Print!

Stonebreaker Part One just arrived!

Part One contains the prologue and first chapter, and, as I did with Over the Wall, I’ve touched up and reworked a lot of the pages from their online versions.

I’m super excited to finally have this in print. I love the web, and I love webcomics, but comics still feel best when you have real, physical pages to look at and turn. All this time and effort I’ve put into making this thing feels so much more concrete now that I can hold it in my hands.

If you want a copy, I’ll be selling them at Autoptic in Minneapolis, MN on August 8th and 9th. I think Autoptic is going to be awesome, so you should go regardless, but that’ll be the first place to get these books.

Thanks for reading!

It’s been a while, but I’m finally coming back to the world of Over the Wall. Stonebreaker is a much, much more ambitious project then Over the Wall was, but things are progressing nicely so far, and I’m excited to really dive into this story.

While I get back into the rhythm of things the comic will update once weekly on Wednesdays. I have some plans that will let me spend more time each week working on the comic (without going completely mad),  so my hope is that comic will switch to a twice-weekly schedule before long. You can keep track of updates on TumblrTwitter or by using the RSS Feed. The website is still a bit of a work-in progress, so please let me know if you run into any bugs or other oddness.
