Strange question, but also one for the author: How are you able to link so many pages in a single post? When I try to link two or more pages, my comment ends up either removed or flagged for “review for moderation”.
Is this a glitch or something that guests/ unregistered accounts aren’t allowed to do?
What I wonder most about is whether this is actually a post-apocalyptic SciFi comic instead of a fantasy comic; as hinted by the page “not-my-name”, by the focus stones like the search stone looking like devices as in “bird” and “bird-2”. My current best guess is that in Anyalin’s world magic is a “natural science”, that is magic is like electricity and magic engineers can build and operate magic devices like electrical engineers can build and operate electric cars.
The second thing I wonder most about is the implication of “just too big a risk” said by Koris to another priest about not losing somebody’s memories in page “memories-2”.
The third kind I wonder about is whether Hadol’s raven and Hadol taught the Noridi how to enslave demons, and the much later consequences (the demon’s rebellion) being why they no longer worship him but Antol. And in general Hadol’s role: where is he now? He seemed to have a plan in mind in bringing Tenid and the Noridi to the valley, and saent the raven. Has he really abandoned the Noridi? In a page Anyalin gives thanks to Hadol’s image in page “thanks” for protecting them from the demons.
As usual I spot details and I am not sure whether our author intends them. The major one here is that the centrepiece “altar” looks like having a slot in the top half where of the same size as a protection stone and is empty; and again the whole platform looks more like a device (like all the other similar pillar-top platforms in the distance in other pages). Also the darkness around the pillar keep being broken by dots of light.
Also not only TORIS can fly up (into what?) but also we have seen in previous panels that the pillar is connected by a bridge to a passage in the mountain, and that presumably Tenid was able to use it to go back to his people after meeting Stonebreaker.
Another detail is that there was a pile of skeletons in the middle of the platform, and among them there should be also the skeleton of Koris with the barrier stone. But the skeleton seems to have been gotten rid of in this panel. Also in the well burial, page “the-well”, the corpse lowered into the well is on a wooden pallet with a strange head semicircle, while the bodies in “bones” are skeletons piled on top of the platform.
The bone pile is a big continutity screw-up on my part. Somehow I thought I had drawn the stand the other way around in the previous scene — they should be sitting across from it here. Dunno how I missed that :P.
This is why comments are valuable! Probably can fix it, let’s see what I can do…
Your comment SHOULD go to moderation if you post more than 2 links, which is true for everyone (it’s an anti-spam measure). I had to manually approve the ones you’re talking about.
Finally! The age old question of whether demons eat food has been answered!
Up till now I thought they fed off names and memories.
“Featherhead” will now have to be Toris’ new official nickname from her on out!
That said Kohjen does have a point, unless something happens, like a shift in alternate reality happens if he goes up.
*here.
I wish I can go back and fix typos.
I wonder more and more about why the demons were trapped.
«why the demons were trapped»
Our author described this as a comic about a “mysterious city” and likes to keep it that way :-).
But why the demons were trapped was explained by TORIS here to protect the world from them:

So far my best guess at the story is:
* A long time ago VELANID managed to change name and broke free of control by the guys who built the pillars and the platforms on their tops.
http://stonebreakercomic.com/stonebreaker/not-my-name/
* Much more recently Tenid, after ex-VELANID destroyed the first edition of Noridun, got guided by the raven to the barrier stone and used it to shut ex-VELANID out as depicted here:

* At the same point or later Tenid and the Noridi priests learned that they could command demons using their name, and that they could create new demons from dead people in the well of memories:
http://stonebreakercomic.com/stonebreaker/demon/
* Then for a long time the Noridi used the demons to build their huge stone city, using the magical powers of the demons:

http://stonebreakercomic.com/stonebreaker/signs/
http://stonebreakercomic.com/stonebreaker/bells-2/
* Eventually the demons found they could acquire new names from humans and thus be free of their control (I suspect that it is still possible to control a demon by using *all* their names), and they were angry at being enslaved through their names:

* When this happened Koris decided to trap the demons into Noridun by taking the barrier stone into the well with him:

I noticed that too. No Stonebreaker demon, no bones, no barrier stone that I can see here either. Just the stand and the markings on the floor.
The bone pile is a big continutity screw-up on my part. Somehow I thought I had drawn the stand the other way around in the previous scene — they should be sitting across from it here. Dunno how I missed that :P.

Speaking about comments, why am I not able to post more than two links in a comment, but I see others can?

Odd if I’m not seeing them though.
