Nothing to worry about? Is that an understatement?
Let me guess, they are now on the outside of the barrier? (or about to be with that hole in the middle) Does that mean they are/ will be free to go as they please?
I was thinking that the barrier itself, or its power, is being transported/rerouted to the barrier she created to protect them from Stonebreaker, so the one in the world above is disappearing
Perhaps it is not quite disappearing, but it is being stressed. In the previous two-page spread the small barrier dome around Anyalin and TORIS also shows concentric rings of stress starting from the point where the club hit it.
I suspect that our author’s comment are as a rule contrarian/sarcastic, e.g. two page ago ” four days to the next update? Glad everyone likes cliffhangers!” with rare exceptions like “Feradin is so confused right now” in page “signs-2”
Now our author, who is moving his characters around cleverly, has made us lose track of Kohjen, who had drawn her sword. Will she try to use it to steal the protection stone from Anyalin now that the club is broken?
BTW one way to trap would be to move the barrier to on-top of him. But can the protection stone create multiple barriers?
Where did the demon inside the barrier stone go?
Our mysterious author is still hiding several vital details, like those arising from page “not-my-name”: why was the protection stone plugged into the central “chair”? How has Stonebreaker grown so large since? Where do the many other wells and pillars lead?
I’m sure Kohjen will return when the plot is ready for her to reappear. That and I’m curious about the tiny demon in the 3rd frame. He/she looks to be another humanoid demon like Toris and Feradin. They also appear more worried than pleased. (unlike the builder and the lizard fellow who appear astonished/ pleased)
Not to mention we have what appears two, now three separate timelines, one with “Tenid” wearing a sci-fi type outfit and three versions of the club. (the club Tenid and his Ravan broke, the sci fi club, that doesn’t appear to have been broken, and the one Anya just broke.)
«one with “Tenid” wearing a sci-fi type outfit and three versions of the club. (the club Tenid and his Ravan broke, the sci fi club»
Ah but the scene in page “not-my-name” refers to a long time before Tenid arrived in the northern lands. There are three indications:
* Look at the pillars and the funnels at the end of the wells: in Tenid’s time they were already chipped and broken, but when Stonebreaker was VELANID they were new and undamaged.
* The “decoration” on the armors, on the top of the pillar, on not-anymore-VELANID’s club is completely different from the Noridi style and also from the shapes of the “signs” of magic.
* In pages “questions” and “poof” Kohjen asks who built the pillars and Anyalin says she does not know and Kohjen says that it is (very) old.
I hope that one day out author will write the prequel telling us the story of VELANID and the very ancient people who created in the demon world a whole set of wells and pillars.
I did wonder if the “sci-fi” “Tenid” might be a few thousand years before the Tenid from Anya’s story.
For even more mystery we still have the “Stonebreaker” scroll that human Toris was reading. The one where “Tenid” flees and the Stonebreaker is trapped.
