I’ve always thought that odd, that ravens (at least in the mid atlantic) are seen as mysterious, almost sacred birds, while crows are just a few steps above pigeons.
I think there was bit in the Hobbit where crows were described as the evil birds and ravens the good ones. That bothered me a lot as a kid, for whatever reason. Crows are cool.
