So, the awarding of a name not only gives someone power over a demon but also the knowledge and memories to do their assigned task. Still, demons can’t entirely be blank slates. Toris obviously has memories of an earlier time, plus his helpful nature certainly seems innate to his personality. While having a short-term memory is one way to control a demon, as Toris learns more on his own, he’s increasingly becoming his own person and regaining knowledge of what he once was.
Yep, pretty much.
Plus some other weirdness we haven’t seen yet. But we’ll get there.
