Well, if they can’t get out, they may as well explore it and see if there are alternate routes, or at least access to food and water somewhere.
We already know that there is the alternate route via the stone bridge and the tunnel inside the mountain used by Tenid:

But would it lead back to the same reality either?
My hunch, probably not. If they get out they’ll probably find yet another alternate reality…alternate town. and who knows? Perhaps that’s why we are seeing more than one version of the “Stonebreaker tale” Will be interesting.
Oh finally somebody who is not an emotional teenager or a naive librarian/demon addresses the big topic: “Well, SOMEONE built this”.
