Anya may not know how to hold a sword, but she knows to protect her true friend.
I see Toris went from crying to astonished. Perhaps he doubted any human loved him for a moment?
It could be more of the shock from a normally violence-evading Anya suddenly drawing a sword on somebody, especially since Toris was kinda consumed in the moment and that’s what snapped him out of it. That’s a pretty big change of character.
Thanks for keeping the swords consistently sharp looking throughout the comic. Paddle “swords” are a pet peeve of mine.
Anyway,
Even without any military training I’m sure Anya could still do some serious damage with a sword, although probably not intentionally.
Hopefully Kohjen has more reservations about killing humans than with demons, but I get a feeling she is pretty desensitized to all kinds of violence by this point.
