Also noting that it is interesting to see the rope is still there. it still exists. Hasn’t been lost, but to those fallen in the Well the rope is gone.
The Well I guess, got it answered my own question above… That said I gather the library/ well might be the source for the demon’s human memories.
Looking at the last pages previous comments was interesting. I didn’t think that about the builder demon and the library entrance being a possible trigger for some of his memories.
I hope to see more triggered memories and see if somehow Scrib gets his memories back too. My theory is that he somehow got caught up in a time/ memory warp and his memories/ self are coexisting in an alternate time than his current self.
The last panel pointing at the rope suggests that the top of this well and the platform on which Kohjen and the others have arrived are not quite part of the same “reality”. But then that is what the raven said of the “bones of the mountains”, that memory and reality are confused near the demon’s lair: http://stonebreakercomic.com/stonebreaker/landscapes/
One of the mysteries that our comic author is keeping is what really happened between Tenid and “the demon formerly known as VELANID”.
Obviously the demon was not killed by Tenid.
The carving around the well door hints that the protection stone was used to keep the demon out; then Koris jumped into the well and after that it is used to keep the demons in.
I have a hunch there’s time warping or alternate realities happening. One or more characters may have the ability to change stuff at will. Perhaps the Stonebreaker.
There’s some peculiar transitions. Blue ink seems to symbolize memory/ flashback or alternate dimension. Black for the current dimension.
After that moment, we see Anya flashback to just after the end of the Over the Wall comic, when she returns with her brother. I suspect something changed there, because the parent/grandparent’s reactions throw me off. It doesn’t jive with the original story line. The anger and shock they express is not “Who did you bring back?” but “OMG NOT HIM!!!!” If the original timeline followed, I’d think they’d express more confusion than anger. But the timeline we see in this flashback look as if they ARE aware of who Anya brought back. They may not know his name but they know to be afraid/ act horrified.
Not sure if this is a clue or just a strange look-alike.
Also I’m very curious about the page with Ana watching some boys kill a Raven. We don’t know yet if that is Tenid’s Raven or not. I wonder if that might have some bearing on either the past or the future
Hmm, I wonder why Feradin hates the library? I remember an earlier page hinting other demons avoid the library too. Interesting.
I’m looking forward to seeing Feradin meeting Scrib and how that turns out.

If you follow through that whole story arc to this page:

and the one after.

Posting more observations: (I have to split into two separate replies because it won’t let me link two pages.

How Scrib looks here:

Looks very close to the character here:

I’ll confirm that’s just an inadvertent look-alike.
Thanks for clearing that up.
